What if I don’t even know how to hold a paint brush correctly?
I think most people are a lot more creative than they think. Have a glass of wine and let our artists guide you through the completion of your masterpiece. All of our projects are fun and light hearted; just relax and let go.
Can I bring wine?
When we are at our home studio (4820 Mortensen Rd, Ames) you are welcome to bring in wine, beer, wine cooler or a soft drink of your choosing. Iowa code does not allow other alcohol to be carried in.
If we are at one of our partner locations with a liquor license wine, beer and other spirits can be purchased at the establishment.
If we are at a partner location without a liquor license you are welcome to bring in wine, beer, wine coolers or soft drinks of your choosing. Please refer to our calendar when registering for your event for any special instructions.
Do you have bottle openers for wine?
Yes, we have wine openers.
Do you have cups for our beverages? Yes, we will have cups.
What time should I arrive?
20 minutes should give you plenty of time to get checked in, get your supplies ready, pour yourself a drink and chat with your friends before we get started. Doors open 30 minutes ahead of time, we would like you to be in the building at least 15 minutes before the event; that way we can get the event started on time.
What if I am running late?
We all have those days where life gets in the way, of course it would be best if you could arrive on time or a few minutes early, but when that isn’t impossible our staff will assist you in catching up with the rest of the group.
How long are events?
The majority of our events are 2 hours, plan on being in studio a little over 2 ½ hours. We strive to start and end on time. Our Creative Kids events are 1 1/2 hours.
If I come with a friend or a group, can we all sit together?
We always try to seat friends and parties together…just be sure to let us know when making your reservation and we will try our best to make the appropriate seating arrangements.
I want to bring my child to paint, what are the age suggestions?
• Creative Kids Events, all “kids” welcome from 3 to 93. Ages 3-6 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
• Afternoon events, children welcome with painting parent/adult guardian.
• Evening events, Ages 14 plus with painting parent/adult guardian.
What is the cost of a Creative Spirits event?
Events range from $25-35. Visit our calendar for additional details on events. To view event prices, click on the image you want to paint and the event details will appear.
What is included in the price?
We provide canvases, paint, brushes, easels, and aprons. You’ll go home with a completed painting & many fun memories!
What do I wear?
We will provide aprons, but you should wear paint-friendly clothes. We are painting with acrylic paints; paint will get on your hands, so keep that in mind. Leave expensive purses and jackets at home, we would hate for an accident to happen. Creative Spirits is not responsible for paint damage.
When does the new schedule of upcoming events come out?
The calendar for the upcoming month is posted by the third week of each month.
Why do I have to pay when I reserve my seat?
The process of registering for a Creative Spirits event is like buying theater or sporting event tickets online: you decide when you want to go, select the date and pay for the tickets online at that time. If a show is sold out, priority goes to those who pre-pay ahead of time.
It is the day of the event and I haven’t registered for the event, can I still attend?
Please call us and we will let you know if there is space available for you and your party, 515-509-2265. We will be happy to fit you in if we have room. In the event that a show is sold out priority will first go to those who have prepaid.
How do I sign up for an event?
To sign up online for an event, click the “register” link for the event you’d like to attend. Fill in the attendee information. If you are registering for more than one attendee, click the “Add more Attendees” link to add info for additional attendees. When finished, click submit. You will then be able to click the Paypal button, make your payment via Paypal, and confirm your reservation. An email confirmation will be sent once payment is received.
How does the waiting list work?
If an event is full, you may call 515-509-2265, and we will assist you in the process.
How do I cancel a reservation?
Cancelations must be made via phone no less than 48 hours in advance.
What happens if the weather is bad on the night I am registered to paint?
We will make our best effort to contact everyone on the list if we decide to postpone an event do to a weather emergency. We will set a new date for the event if you can’t make the new date let us know. We will post all weather related changes on our Facebook page, and.send out an email to those registered.
What forms of payment do you accept?
Our online system utilizes Authorize.Net as a payment processor and allows us to accept Debit Cards, Visa, Master Card, American Express, and Discover Card.
What if someone I know wants to sign up but doesn’t have access to the Internet?
You are welcome to register online for yourself and anyone else. You may also have them call 515-509-2265 and we will assist them in the sign up process.
Can I register by phone?
Yes, just call 515-509-2265 and we will assist you in the reservation process.
Is it safe to register on-line?
Online payment via credit card is secure, fast, easy and will guarantee that your registration is processed immediately. We are using Paypal to process online payments and Paypal uses a secure socket certificate : 128-bit SSL encryption. Your information is safely housed on secure servers maintained by Paypal merchant services division, one of the leading worldwide providers of online payment transactions.
Do you ever share my information with third parties?
NEVER, we only use your email address to send you reminders, promotions, and news about Creative Spirits.
I have reserved a seat but am unable to attend. What is your cancellation policy?
If you cancel 48 hours before the day of the event or simply fail to show, you will be charged for the event because we will be unable to fill your spot at the last minute. As long as you cancel prior to 48 hours before the scheduled event time, you will be provided a full refund.
Do you offer gift certificates?
Yes! We now offer online gift certificates. You can purchase your gift certificate here or you can call, 505-509-2265, or email firstname.lastname@example.org and we will assist you. You will have the option to print or email your gift certificate.
How do I redeem my gift certificate?
Go to our calendar, find an event you would like to attend, click register, enter your personal information and enter your gift certificate number in the voucher box. If you have problems registering or if you would like to use your gift certificate to attend an event at one of our other studios, please call 505-509-2265 and we will assist you.
Do you offer fundraisers?
We do not offer fundraisers in the traditional sense, however, if you wanted to do a silent auction, raffle or other fundraiser, we would be happy to be the entertainment for your event.
